We now manufacture Corrugated Colorbond Vents that will fit over continuous ROUNDED type corrugated colorbond roofing and wall sheets.

Corrugated Colorbond Vents come in 6 different standard sizes as seen below. This type fits over continuous ROUNDED type corrugated sheets:

We will be adding more detailed installation instructions with pictures for Corrugated Colorbond Vents as soon as possible.

Available now also in Zincalume or GAL.

As seen above we make Corrugated Colorbond Vents that can be mounted onto both Vertically Orientated OR Horizontally Orientated Colorbond.

The largest vent we manufacture measures approximately 600x565 and the smallest vent we manufacture measures approximately 200x190 with sizes in between. 

Below is an example of our Vertically Orientated (on the Left) and Horizontally Orientated (on the Right) Corrugated Colorbond Vents. 

The size below is 190x200 Vertical (pictured on left) and 200x190 Horizontal (pictured on right), i.e., with ridges running up and down or from left to right respectively. .

These sizes shown above include the 20mm extra on both ridge sides - So these sizes above are overall panel sizes.

**Please note that Corrugated Colorbond Vents cannot be made any size as the sides depending on orientation have to fit over the raised ridges so that they seal against water.

So our sizes are based on number of ridges that they fit over when appropriately orientated.

We have allowed for an extra 15mm on both sides of the ridges which are bent on an angle to form a seal over the ridges.

Vents for different FAN sizes

Alot of customers wish to use Corrugated Colorbond Vents to mount different sized fans or ducts attached to fans.

Based on airflow if you wish to use Corrugated Colorbond Vents to provide ventilation for fans or for mounting ducts then:

A 150mm diameter FAN (or hole) in your corrugated sheeting will suit a 275x265 Vertical or 265x275 Horizontal Corrugated Colorbond Vent. 

A 200mm diameter FAN or hole in your corrugated sheeting will suit a 340x340 Vertical or 340x340 Horizontal Corrugated Colorbond Vent. 

A 250mm diameter FAN or hole in your corrugated sheeting will suit a 400x415 Vertical or 415x400 Horizontal Corrugated Colorbond Vent. 

A 300mm diameter FAN or hole in your corrugated sheeting will suit a 500x490 Vertical or 490x500 Horizontal Corrugated Colorbond Vent. 

A 300mm diameter FAN or hole in your corrugated sheeting will also suit a 600x565 Vertical or 565x600 Horizontal Corrugated Colorbond Vent. 

The 200x190 Vertical or 190x200 Horizontal Corrugated Colorbond Vents or ANY other larger sized vent can also be used for general ventilation.

However if you wish to speficially mount a Fan or attach a Duct to a Fan then please select the above Corrugated Colorbond Vent selection as a guide related to airflow etc.

The hole size should be identical to your Fan size (A 150mm diameter fan needs a 150mm diameter hole cut out etc)

Standard Corrugated Colorbond Ridge Pitch = 75mm

Ember Proof Mesh

Corrugated Colorbond Vents come with Ember Proof Mesh as standard on rear.

Mesh should either be be pop-riveted or screwed into corrugated Colorbond during vent installation - basically the same screw pop-rivet that holds the vent in place also should go through mesh to fix in place.

Otherwise there would be two rows of screws or pop-rivets as mesh cannot be spot welded onto Colorbond.

Standard Self Tapper Roofing Screws are ideal for mounting as Roofing Screws come with Rubber Washers, which naturally act as a watertight seal.

Self Tapper Roofing Screws are usually available in Hexagon head (or others), which you can use a standrard cordless drill to more quickly screw in and mount vents.

Roofing Screws are readily available from any hardware store and the screw heads should be available in different Colorbond colours to match your vent.

Installation

*IMPORTANT- Do not PRE-CUT any ventilation ducting holes in your corrugated wall sheeting until you place our Corrugated Colorbond Vents onto the area you wish to mount first!!

This is because our Corrugated Colorbond Vents are positioned to fit onto the corrugations so that they seal both sides of the ridges.

So depending on the size of the vent you have chosen, some sized vents need a hole on top of crest and some vents need a hole on bottom of the crest in your colorbond wall sheets.

Hole position general rule:

If the Corrugated Colorbond Vent has an even number of ridges, 2, 4, 6 etc then the centre of the ventilation hole needs to be cut in the centre of the top of the raised crest (top of hill) of your sheeting.

190 x 200 corrugated colorbond vents have 2 ridges - so the centre of your hole will be at the TOP of the crest in your corrugated wall sheeting.

340 x 340 corrugated colorbond vents have 4 ridges - so the centre of your hole will be at the TOP of the crest in your corrugated wall sheeting.

If the Corrugated Colorbond Vent has an odd number of ridges, 3, 5, 7 etc then the centre of the ventilation hole needs to be cut in the centre of the bottom of the lower part or bottom of valley of your corrugated sheeting.

265 x 275 corrugated colorbond vents have 3 ridges - so the centre of your hole will be at the BOTTOM of the valley in your corrugated wall sheeting.

400 x 415 corrugated colorbond vents have 5 ridges - so the centre of your hole will be at the BOTTOM of the valley in your corrugated wall sheeting.

565 x 600 corrugated colorbond vents have 7 ridges - so the centre of your hole will be at the BOTTOM of the valley in your corrugated wall sheeting.

Mounting 

We will now be glueing on mesh to rear of all corrugated colorbond vents to make it much easier for installation, please see picture below:

And the Mesh will be cut slightly smaller on one side so you dont need to drill thru mesh anymore and will help with vents fitting more flush onto corrugated sheeting.

And we will also now be putting in small dimples on front face, please see picture below:

These dimples are now pressed on front face for drilling locations so it very easier to know where to drill mounting holes.

Our Corrugated Colorbond Vents are made so that they can be screwed onto the underlying corrugated material on the high ridge points / crests with self tappers etc.

You should place a screw in centre of each ridge first to hold in place and then also evenly around the two sides across top and bottom.

We now provide screw locating dimples on the front face to make this easier for you!

After fixing in place the vents can be siliconed in at top, bottom and sides to prevent water entry.

Example of Installation for 415 x 400 Vertical (or 400x415 Horizontal) Corrugated Colorbond Vents

As an example, the Corrugated Colorbond Vent shown in pictures below fits over 5 Ridges and measures 415mm wide approx x 400mm high

and which will fit onto Vertically Orientated Colorbond.

The vent has 300mm long individual louvers.

SQUARE / RECTANGULAR OPENINGS

This vent will suit a square opening made in the Colorbond corrugated material that is 300mm wide x 300mm high or 300mm Diameter approximately.

DRILLED HOLE OPENINGS

OR - As a builder pointed out to us - You can also simply drill many small holes (say 1/2" - 5/8" - 12mm to 16mm etc) underneath the vented area so there is more structural integrity of the corrugated sheeting.

The Corrugated Colorbond Vent shown below is colour green "Pale Eucalypt" but any other Colorbond colour can be supplied.

Also the Corrugated Colorbond Vents shown below have 90 degreee folded corrugated shaped lip at the top and bottom.

You place pop rivets or self tapper screws on the centre of each ridge or simply use the screw locating dimples as a guide.

You would use Qty = "6" off, screws/rivets along the top and bottom. Placing screws around 10 - 15mm from top and bottom margins.

You would then add maybe another 3 screws along the left hand and right hand vertical sides, spacing them evenly apart - best to put one in centre first and then the two on either sides will make it easier to get spacing correct.

Self tapper screws are sufficient. Roofing screws have a rubber washer but may be too long to use as may protrude too far out rear. Or pop rivets are ok also. Coloured pop rivets in identical colorbond colour are available from hardward stores such as Bunnings etc.

Again you drill through Vent and through mesh glued on rear and then into underlying corrugated sheeting.

You then need to apply silicone sealant, via a silicone application gun all around the margin of the vents where they join to the corrugated sheeting.

Use your finger or rag to press silicone properly into and around all joins, top, bottom and both sides of vent to seal against rain.

Remember to only use "CLEAR" colour silicone as dont accidentally buy or use coloured or wood type silicone cartridges which are now available.

Installation for 190 x 200 Corrugated Colorbond Vents

The 190 x 200 (or 200x 190) small vents fit over 3 ridges. So for example when mounting a vertical orientated vent you need to place 3 self tapper screws across the top and bottom.

Again remember to place mesh underneath vent prior to drilling.

And then maybe on more screw on either side in the middle - if you find the 190x 200 vent has not sealed with just 3 on top and bottom.

Again apply clear silicone around all joins using your finger or rag to press in all siliconed joins.

You do not need to have rubber washers with self tapper screws, so ordinary self tapper screws will make a sufficient seal, but rubber washers are available then you are welcome to use.

Colours Available

We can make in any commonly available Colorbond Colour from our supplier and also in Zincalume and GAL if specified.

Examples of some Colorbond colours are: Woodland Grey, Surfmist, Shale Grey, Monument, Monument Matt, Ironstone, Classic Cream, Cottage Green, Terrain, Basalt, Night Sky, Pale Eucalypt plus many others!

 

The vents shown below are 200x190 in size and are "horizontally orientated" in that the corrugations which the vents are mounted onto are in a horizontal direction.

The vents below are made out of woodland grey Colorbond.
